- Primary Purpose: Responsible for day-to-day on-site leadership and supervision of Operations staff to support the department’s overall general maintenance of facilities, grounds, equipment, and transportation services that support district operations. Assist the director with long range planning, contractors, purchasing, regulatory compliance, and Emergency Operations. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Clear and valid Texas driver’s license Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements or ability to obtain credentials within 90 days of hiring Ability to become licensed as a Texas Commissioned Security Officer within 180 days of hiring Ability to complete NIMS training: ICS-100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 400, IS 700 & IS 800 within one year of hiring Must be able to work a flexible schedule and extended hours to support student activities Special Knowledge/Skills: General knowledge of building repair, maintenance, grounds, and student transportation Ability to direct, supervise, evaluate and counsel personnel Ability pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Microsoft Office suite proficiency Ability to supervise contracted services to ensure compliance with specifications Effective organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills Ability to organize work schedules Ability to manage labor budgets Ability to organize and deliver departmental training Ability to operate district vehicles safely Ability to organize operation records and monitor preventative maintenance schedules and regulatory compliance schedules Ability to train and be a member of the district Emergency Operations Team Experience: Four years experience in a craft field or related business environment
