About Our District Knox City-O'Brien CISD is a small, rural district in the heart of West Texas, serving approximately 195 students from PK3 through 12th grade. Our secondary campus serves grades 6–12 with a student population of around 90. We pride ourselves on our tight-knit community, strong values, and deep commitment to student success. Our staff, families, and community work hand-in-hand to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for all. Position Overview We are seeking an energetic, visionary, and student-centered leader to serve as Principal of our 6–12 secondary campus. The ideal candidate will foster academic excellence, lead a collaborative team, and inspire a positive school culture aligned with our district's mission. This role requires a dynamic communicator, strong instructional leader, and a compassionate yet firm administrator who understands the value of rural education and community engagement. Responsibilities Lead the daily operations and instructional leadership of the secondary campus (grades 6–12). Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive school culture where students and staff thrive. Collaborate with teachers to implement effective instructional practices and use data to drive improvement. Support student success through academic and extracurricular program development. Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the greater community. Supervise and evaluate campus staff to ensure high standards of performance. Oversee campus budgeting, scheduling, compliance, and other administrative duties. Serve as a key member of the district leadership team.
Qualifications
Qualifications Valid Texas Principal Certification required. Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field. Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience. Previous campus or district-level leadership experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to the values of small-town education and community involvement.
