Description/Notes
Primary Purpose: Coordinate and support the implementation of safety and emergency management initiatives across Cotulla ISD. Serve as the liaison between the district and local law enforcement, emergency management agencies, and internal campus teams. Assist in maintaining compliance with state safety mandates and supporting the continuous improvement of districtwide safety systems. This role requires the professional qualifications of both an educator and an educational administrator but does not supervise personnel.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (required) Valid Texas teaching certificate (EC–12 or appropriate level and subject area) Valid Texas principal or mid-management certification (required) TEA-recognized training in safety, emergency operations, or emergency management (preferred) Completion of or willingness to complete Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) safety training, including standard response protocols, Stop the Bleed, and behavioral threat assessment Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of school emergency operations planning and compliance standards Familiarity with TEA safety mandates, TxSSC audit requirements, and EOP development Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills Experience collaborating with law enforcement, first responders, and school staff Ability to review video surveillance systems, analyze drill procedures, and maintain detailed records Proficient with Sentinel safety platform and digital compliance tools (preferred) Experience: Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience (required) Minimum 3 years of campus or district-level administrative experience (required) Experience in school safety, emergency planning, or coordination with law enforcement (preferred)
Salary Range
$90,400 - $112,846
