Description/Notes
Cotulla High School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated individual to support all aspects of the high school band program. This position involves assisting with the marching band, concert ensembles, and teaching 6th-grade beginners and 7th–8th grade bands at Newman Middle School. A percussion or brass player is preferred but not required. Mariachi experience is a plus. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment, deliver high-quality music instruction, and help build a vibrant and successful music program. Strong musical expertise, a student-focused approach, and the ability to collaborate with students, staff, and community stakeholders are essential.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university • Valid Texas teaching certificate – All-Level Music • Demonstrated competency in instrumental music • Exemplary student-focused teacher/musician • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and parents Preferred: • Previous high school band experience • Percussion or brass player • Mariachi experience
Salary Range
$62,290 - $76,135 *Additional $11,250 Assistant Band Director Stipend
