- Major Responsibilities and Roles: Promote the development of competencies and skills to function successfully in the educational setting and the community Manage student behavior in accordance with his or her Individual Education Plan, including the Behavior Intervention Plan, and the Student Code of Conduct Provide explicit pro-social skill instruction throughout the school day Plan and supervise the work and activities of educational aides Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. Effective Communication Skills Competent in progress monitoring and data collection Facilitate ARD meetings and complete IEP documentation accurately in accordance with local, state, and federal policies and laws. IEP recommendations are made based on evidenced based measures and multiple sources of data. Attend required training and staff development Train in the district’s crisis response-physical/non-physical intervention Understand disabilities, and be able to train staff working with students the impact of such disabilities on learning and functioning Use of research-based pro-social curriculum
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education certification required
- Salary Range
- Competitive - based on LVISD Compensation Plan (current Teacher Salary schedule 0-30 yrs: $50,000-$70,000)
