- Provide students in grades 6–12 with instruction in the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Deliver hands-on, TEKS-aligned coursework in agricultural science, mechanics, animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and leadership. Prepare students for college, careers, and industry certification while overseeing supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs) and active participation in the FFA student organization.
- Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources for grades 612 or legacy certifications such as: Agricultural Science and Technology 6–12 Agricultural Science 6–12 Trade and Industrial Education with appropriate work experience and certification in AFNR ESL Supplemental certification preferred (may be required based on student population) Must meet CTE requirements for teacher certification, including industry experience, if applicable Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of TEKS for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) Proficiency in agricultural mechanics, animal and plant science, and leadership development Knowledge of FFA programs, SAE supervision, and contest participation Strong classroom management and hands-on instructional skills Ability to organize and manage lab spaces, greenhouses, and shop areas safely Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Willingness to travel and work irregular hours for events, contests, and fairs Experience: At least one year of classroom teaching or industry-related experience preferred Experience supervising SAEs and/or coordinating FFA events highly desirable
- Salary Range
- $62,290 - $76,135.00 **Additional CATE amount based on years of experience and additional days**
