- Primary Purpose: Marion ISD is seeking a dynamic and innovative STREAM Lab Teacher to provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students in grades PK through 5. The STREAM Lab (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math) is a dedicated instructional space designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through interdisciplinary learning. The teacher in this role will work with all grade levels on a rotating schedule, delivering lessons that integrate technology, design challenges, coding, digital literacy, and creative expression, while aligning with TEKS and ISTE standards.Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Primary Responsibilities: Develop and deliver STREAM-based lessons for all K–5 students in a weekly rotation Align instruction with TEKS and ISTE standards Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning across disciplines Incorporate engineering, coding, digital literacy, and design into lessons Manage materials, lab supplies, and classroom organization Support campus-wide initiatives, including STEM Night, UIL events, and grant-funded programs Collaborate with grade-level teachers to extend classroom learning through lab experiences Provide accommodations and differentiation for diverse learners, including early readers Maintain student engagement through curated centers and interactive platforms Supervise and guide students during transitions to and from the lab setting Programs & Digital Tools: Typing Club EdPuzzle Scratch & Scratch Jr. Microsoft Makecode Microbit Microsoft Arcade Tinkercad Dragon Drop PebbleGo IXL ABCYa, Blooket, Boddle Instructional Focus Areas: Screen-free coding and mouse skill development for early learners Social-emotional learning through curated PK–2 centers Art integration across content areas using a variety of media Upper elementary science enrichment, including dissection labs Support for digital citizenship and basic tech literacy
- Qualifications
- Qualifications: Valid Texas teaching certificate (EC–6 preferred) (ESL endorsement preferred) Strong classroom management skills across multiple grade levels Comfort with instructional technology and a willingness to learn new tools Ability to collaborate with faculty and adjust instruction for varying student needs Passion for creativity, innovation, and student-centered learning Experience in STEM, makerspace, or tech-based learning environments preferred Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)] Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Frequent walking Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
