Campus Description
High Island Schools is located on the Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston County. High Island has a rich history of success, and despite the devastation that displaced many families after Hurricane Ike, the school boosts of many successes including the last two accountability ratings of A and B. This year the school finished as the UIL Academic District Champs, OAP Regional finalists, Area Volleyball finalist, and Track & Field Regional finalists. 53% of the 2025 Graduating Class earned an Associates Degree, Industry Certification, or Core 42 from our onsite Early College High School. Additionally, the Graduating Class of 2025 will have a 100% CCMR rating. Approximately 150 students comprise the enrollment with 14 teachers. On May 3, 2025, a $28 million Bond was approved by the citizens to construct a new Elementary and High School Campus with a shared Library and Gymnasium. The new building is scheduled to be completed in 2027.

Description/Notes
Direct and manage overall campus operations. Responsible for leadership of the campus instructional program ensuring high standards of instruction and student achievement, compliance with district policies, application of instructional programs, and effective operation of all campus activities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Master’s degree from accredited university Texas principal or has successfully passed the TExES (268) exam and can successfully demonstrate the ability to complete the TExES 368 PASL and certification process in the 2025-2026 School Year Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Ability to interpret data Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience: Three years experience as a classroom teacher Two years experience in instructional leadership roles
Salary Range
Dependent upon experience and the ability to successful handle the job. $70k - $108K

District Housing is available at $350/month plus utilities $400 employer's contribution to medical insurance
