Description/Notes
Primary Purpose: Coordinate district-level programs and services related to student attendance, discipline, dropout prevention, truancy intervention, and student support. Work collaboratively with campus administrators, counselors, and community stakeholders to improve student outcomes and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Program Management ● Coordinate implementation of district student services programs including attendance improvement, dropout prevention, homebound students, and student discipline. ● Assist campuses in identifying at-risk students and developing targeted intervention plans. ● Collaborate with administrators and staff to promote positive behavior supports and alternatives to suspension. ● Provide support for the McKinney-Vento (homeless), foster care, pregnancy related services, and other student support programs. ● Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of restorative practices across campuses. Compliance and Reporting ● Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding compulsory attendance, truancy, student discipline, and related services. ● Prepare and analyze reports related to attendance, discipline, and dropout rates; provide data to campuses for planning and improvement. ● Serve as a liaison with legal counsel, courts, and governmental agencies related to truancy and student support matters. Communication and Collaboration ● Provide ongoing training and support to campus attendance clerks, administrators, and other staff regarding student services processes and policies. ● Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community agencies to support student well-being and success. ● Work in collaboration with other district departments and external agencies to ensure aligned services and supports. Other ● Assist in developing policies and procedures related to student services. ● Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job performance. ● Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services.
Qualifications
Education/Certification Master’s degree in education, counseling, administration, or related field Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification (preferred) Valid Texas teaching certificate Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of student services programs, including discipline, attendance, truancy, and dropout prevention Familiarity with state and federal laws related to student services (e.g., TEC Chapter 25, PEIMS coding, HB 5, etc.) Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data Skill in working with at-risk populations and developing intervention strategies Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in education Campus or district-level administrative experience preferred Experience working with student intervention and support services
Salary Range
Minimum pay of $74,527 & midpoint of $91,443 12 month contract 4 day work week Minimum of a 4% raise for the 25/26 school year
