- Giddings High School is a campus with approximately 630 students in grades 9-12. Giddings, the county seat of Lee County, is located in south central Texas between the metropolitan areas of Houston and Austin. U.S. Highway 77, connecting Dallas to the Gulf Coast, and U.S. Highway 290, the main connection between Houston and Austin, intersect in Giddings. Giddings has a population of just over 5,000. The economy of Giddings is based on the oil industry, farming and ranching, and service industries. The community takes great pride in its schools and attendance at school sponsored activities, such as Friday night football games in Buffalo Stadium, rivals the population of the town itself.
