PRIMARY FUNCTION Provide support for the district's fine arts programs, including music, visual arts, dance, and theatre. Promote excellence in teaching and learning across all fine arts disciplines. Collaborate with campus and district leaders to ensure alignment with district goals, curriculum standards, and state requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsement in at least one fine arts area Principal or mid-management certification preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong knowledge of fine arts curriculum, instruction, and program development Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills Ability to analyze data and drive instructional improvement Effective budget and personnel management Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills Experience: Minimum of 3+ years fine arts teaching experience EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provision of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive fine arts program for grades K–12. Lead curriculum development and instructional alignment across all fine arts content areas. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using data, performance outcomes, and stakeholder feedback. Provide coaching and professional development for fine arts teachers. Coordinate instructional resources, assessments, and best practices in teaching fine arts. Support new teacher onboarding and mentorship within fine arts disciplines. Ensure district fine arts curriculum aligns with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and meets state and national standards. Ensure compliance with UIL, TEA, and other governing agency guidelines and policies. Prepare and manage the fine arts budget, including purchasing, inventory, and resource allocation. Coordinate maintenance and acquisition of instruments, equipment, costumes, and materials. Seek grants and community partnerships to enhance program opportunities. Coordinate fine arts events, exhibitions, performances, and competitions across the district. Promote student and community engagement in fine arts programs. Serve as a liaison between the district and community arts organizations. Work closely with principals, instructional leaders, and central office staff to support program goals. Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and the broader school community about fine arts programs. Represent the district at local, regional, and state meetings related to fine arts education. Adhere to professional and ethical standards, in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics. Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job performance. Maintain confidentiality. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and the Superintendent of Schools. Salary Range
Minimum: $78,177 Mid-Point: $93,350 Maximum: $109,516
