Description/Notes
Lead the district’s internal and external communications regarding all facets of the district and district-related services, vision, and mission. Promote open, honest and thorough communications and proactive public relations with the community, including the news media, including preparing and providing information to the public about the activities, goals, and policies of the school district. Direct the usage of various and inclusive forms of print, broadcast, verbal, electronic – including social media, communication and technology to maintain positive interactions internally and externally.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in education, business, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, political science or related field from an accredited college or university. Special Knowledge/Skills: • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills • Exceptional skills in writing, editing, and public speaking • Thorough knowledge of media relations and public relations functions • Creative, critical thinker • Ability to understand and implement policy and procedures • Ability to interpret data • Ability to use personal computer to design and produce district publications • Ability to lead and direct department staff in the accomplishment of goals • Working knowledge of, and solid experience with, using social media tools for communications Experience: Three years practical work experience in communication, media, and/or community relations preferred.
Salary Range
$130,596.00 to $176,687.00
