- Early College High Schools (ECHS) are open-enrollment high schools that allow students an opportunity to receive both a high school diploma and either an associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours toward a baccalaureate degree. ECHS campuses enroll historically underrepresented students, targeting first generation, at-risk and economically disadvantaged, provide dual credit at no cost to students, offer rigorous instruction and accelerated courses, provide academic and social support services to help students succeed, provide students with highly personalized attention, increase college readiness, and partner with Texas institutions of higher education (IHEs) to reduce barriers to college access.

- PRIMARY PURPOSE: To serve as a visionary leader in creating innovative learning environments and experiences that align with the unique mission of an Early College High School. Direct and manage the instructional program while supervising campus operations and personnel to ensure high standards of instructional service. Provide leadership in curriculum development, skillful delivery, and evaluation to support student success. Oversee compliance with district policies, ensure the success of instructional programs, and effectively manage all campus activities to promote a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Qualifications
- GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Education/Certification/Experience: Master’s degree in educational administration from an accredited university. Valid Texas Principal certificate. Valid Texas Teacher certificate. Minimum of two years’ experience as a classroom teacher, middle school level preferred. Three years’ experience as a campus administrator (e.g., principal, assistant principal), middle school level preferred.
