- Cushing Independent School District seeks an innovative, student-driven leader for Superintendent of Schools beginning January 5, 2026. Cushing ISD has approximately 550 students and 90 employees, serving grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district covers 151 square miles, located in scenic Nacogdoches and Southwestern Rusk Counties. Cushing ISD boasts challenging and engaging academic, extra-curricular, and athletic offerings for all students with small town school pride. Cushing ISD aspires to provide our students the best educational experience of any East Texas school district. - Qualifications
- Job Requirements: - Masters Degree in educational administration from an accredited college or university - Valid Texas Superintendent Certificate - Five years of leadership in school administration in a Texas school district Board of Trustee Expectations for the New Superintendent: ● Experience in school leadership, preferably in a Superintendent or central office role ● A strong leader who is willing to make tough decisions ● Someone who can deliver the truth with grace and kindness ● Advocate for the district in the community and the region ● A servant’s heart for faculty, staff, and especially students ● Wants to be a part of the Cushing community
