The district partners with Cameron University and invests in meaningful professional development. With strong ties to Fort Sill—including a school on the installation—LPS embraces service, collaboration and continuous improvement. The district serves more than 13,250 students with the assistance of 2,200 certified and support professionals. District leaders, staff and other stakeholders have developed a comprehensive strategic plan focused on student achievement, culture and climate, and organizational excellence. The district’s Points of Pride include: • First Oklahoma public district to earn Purple Star designation, affirming strong support for military-connected students. • Free concurrent enrollment for high school students, including classes, fees and books; several students have graduated with associate degrees. • Free breakfast and lunch for all students through renewable federal grants. • National recognition, including NSBA’s 2024 Magna Award for the Life Ready Center and NSPRA awards for video and publications.
