- Pecos is the county seat of Reeves County, located in the Trans-Pecos region of West Texas along the Pecos River at the eastern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert. Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District serves the communities of Pecos, Toyah in Reeves County, and Barstow in western Ward County. - Responsible for the overall management, strategic planning, development, evaluation, and implementation of district business, PEIMS, technology, maintenance, child nutrition, and transportation functions. Operations Management Oversee the management of business, PEIMS, facilities maintenance, child nutrition, transportation, and technology operations of the district. Incorporate district-level goals into operational objectives to ensure that students arrive at school and school activities safely and on time; receive nutritious meals; and attend school in an environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Monitor and reevaluate operations departments on an ongoing basis to ensure district needs are met effectively and efficiently. Implement changes where appropriate. Ensure that the necessary time, resources, materials, and technology to support the accomplishment of department goals are available. Policy, Reports, and Law Implement federal and state laws and regulations, local board policy, and ensure compliance. Stay abreast of state and federal public policy changes that could impact the district. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Budget Develop and administer the department budgets based on documented needs and ensure that operations are cost-effective and funds are managed prudently. Communication Ensure that established goals and expectations related to district operations are communicated clearly, consistently, and in a timely manner. Personnel Management Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions for the business, PEIMS, technology, facilities maintenance, child nutrition, and transportation departments as needed. Evaluate the job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness. Select, train, evaluate, and supervise staff, and make recommendations regarding assignments, retention, discipline, and dismissal. Direct oversight of the Director of Finance, TSDS PEIMS Manager, Director of Technology, Director of Maintenance, Director of Transportation, and Director of Child Nutrition. Safety Ensure that safety standards are maintained in conformance with federal, state, and insurance regulations, and a district-wide preventive safety program is developed and implemented. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Other Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations on operational issues to the board. Attend regular meetings of the board. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of business, PEIMS, technology, maintenance, transportation, and food service supervisors and staff, and operations department clerical staff.

- Education/Certification: Master’s degree Valid Texas Superintendent Certification, preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of operations management Ability to interpret data and evaluate programs/departments Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience: 3 years of experience in operations management, preferred 5 years of experience managing people, preferred
