- Develop and maintain a variety of budgets in coordination with the Director and the District’s business office, using MUNIS, Kids Care Center, ARUX and other resources. 2. Review general ledger transactions to ensure compliance with applicable District, state and federal program guidelines, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and the TEA Financial Accountability System Resource Guide. 3. Analyze Adult and Community Education staffing and funding to ensure approved levels of staffing are maintained; prepare reports and reconcile staffing discrepancies. 4. Responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. 5. In coordination with the Grants and Special Revenue departments, prepare budgets and ensure fiscal compliance for all grants and contracts, including 21st Century Community Learning Centers, City of San Antonio After School Challenge, and the Northside Education Foundation. 6. Supervise a team of bookkeepers. 7. Prepare special schedules and analytical reports on budgets, expenditures, and revenue. 8. Coordinate with Accounting and Budget offices and serve as a point of contact for all fiscal inquiries. 9. Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets 10. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting or related field • Four years experience in a lead role over major accounting area or accounting project with previous accounting experience in a school district, governmental or non-profit environment preferred. • Knowledge of TEA Financial Accounting Systems Resource Guide (Texas public school district accounting guidelines) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Knowledge of accounting principles for governmental fund accounting • Skilled in Windows-based database and spreadsheet software management applications • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently • Ability to compile data, analyze data for accuracy, and prepare summary reports • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and positive relationship-building skills • Two years of supervisory experience • External candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check. - MINIMUM SALARY: $60,611 MAXIMUM SALARY: $84,565
