- Mumford Independent School District history began in 1916 when the first school was started by Lillian Collier. The wife of a prominent local land owner and a Baylor University graduate, she started teaching and began what today is a proud tradition here in the Brazos Valley. The school became an Independent School District on March 16, 1925, and served primary and elementary grade levels. It was not until 1999 that Mumford ISD started the Mumford High School and we have not stopped growing since then. Our first graduation occurred on May 2003. Today, we provide services from PK3 to grade 12. We are home to an average of 600 students and are centrally located 10 miles south of Hearne, 15 miles north-east of Caldwell, and about 20 miles north of Texas A&M university. Our facilities include four main buildings: Elementary, High School, Primary, and Middle school buildings, built in 1997, 2001, 2002, and 2005, respectively. We have two gymnasiums, 4 computer labs, and the Pete J. Bienski, Jr., Sports Complex with tennis, baseball, and softball fields. We recently completed a top of the line competition gym, coaches offices, locker rooms, weight room, and cafeteria. Mumford ISD takes pride in all of its students, teachers, and staff members. We provide a safe environment where learning and education are possible. We strive to excel in the challenging world of K-12 education and athletics. Our students' parents expect nothing but the best for their children and Mumford ISD's teachers, coaches, and staff work hard every day to meet this expectation. Mumford offers a distinctively different work environment for educators in the Brazos Valley. We have high standards of behavior and expectations for our students. This leads to better results for our students and lasting success for our Mustang families.

- This position is dual contract athletics / teacher. The applicant should be able to serve in a teacher role in some manner. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
- Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI) Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of core academic subject assigned Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
