Job Title: Executive Director of Operations Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports to: Superintendent Pay Grade: Operations 790 Dept./School: Central Administration Date Revised: 03/03/26 Primary Purpose: To assist the superintendent in the overall management of the school district, and to provide managerial direction and coordination under board policy guidelines. Qualifications: Education/Certification • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or construction field required • Master’s Degree preferred Special Knowledge/Skills • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Experience • Ten years in a comparable position. Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Facilitate land acquisition and coordinate with district’s legal counsel. 2. Serve as liaison for economic development and coordinate with contracted services as well as governmental agencies. 3. Supervise construction projects and coordinate with architects, construction staff, and governmental agencies. 4. Coordinate demographics and enrollment projections and manage external demographer. 5. Administer modifications to the attendance zones. 6. Coordinate with governmental entities to advocate for school district needs. 7. Attend city council, zoning, HOA, and other meetings as needed as a representative of the District. 8. Serve as point of contact for city construction projects. 9. Coordinate all aspects of the EMS bond programs. 10. Act as liaison for Long Range Facility Committee. 11. Maintain all campus capacity of learning spaces yearly. Department Management: 12. Provides oversight for maintenance/custodial, transportation, child nutrition, energy management, facility rental, and YMCA. 13. Communicate effectively with staff, community, and Board of Trustees. 14. Develops and maintains positive staff morale in all areas of operations. District Organization: 1. Assists as required with the planning and assessment of district and department operations. 2. Promotes a positive image to support the mission of the District. 3. Ensures Long Range Facility Plan is updated yearly and approved by the Board every 5 years. Personnel Management: 1. Defines job performance expectations of maintenance, transportation, child nutrition, and construction staff. 2. Evaluates job performance of staff. 3. Develops training options for staff to ensure the best performance of all departments within the operations department. Operations and Management: 1. Provides leadership and management for the maintenance, transportation, child nutrition, and construction within the operations department. 2. Leads in the development of managerial plans for construction management. 3. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and environmental regulations. 4. Skilled in making high stakes decisions involving safety, weather, or operational failures. Professional Development: 1. Actively participates in professional organizations. 2. Seeks out professional development activities designated to improve performance. 3. Keeps abreast of current federal, state, and district regulations with areas of responsibility. Other duties: 1. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent. Supervisory Responsibilities: 1. Supervise and evaluate employee(s) in assigned area. Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors • Frequent travel within and outside the district • Prolonged and irregular hours • Work indoors and outdoors as required to fulfill duties • Represent the district at community functions

Salary Range
$135,997.00 - $177,000.00

- 7 local leave days + 5 state leave days. Accumulate local leave up to 100 days. - EMS ISD employee child care. *Based on availability. - District paid $4,644 annual insurance contribution for eligible employees. Contingent upon enrollment in a medical insurance plan.
