JOB TITLE: PART-TIME BUS DRIVER TEAM: TRANSPORTATION REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL/ATHLETIC DIRECTOR SUPERVISES: N/A FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT SALARY: $21-$31 HOURLY SCHEDULE: 5:30AM - 9:30AM -PART TIME - 20HRS LOCATION: GEORGETOWN & BELTON TEXAS COMPETENCIES:   Ability to obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver license (Class B) with P and S Endorsement and a Texas school bus driver certification. POSITION SUMMARY: Operate a large passenger motor vehicle transporting students and other passengers to destinations inside and outside the school district in a safe and orderly manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: BUS DRIVER DUTIES: Operation of a gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicle to transport students between neighborhoods at Nolan Creek School, Belton Texas and school activities in Georgetown and/or other two campuses for field trips or other activities. Pick up and drop off students at regularly schedule at Nolan Creek School, Belton Texas location, following strict time schedules. Maintain order/discipline among pupils during trips which include instructing students on safe riding rules, in order to ensure safety and report any problems to appropriate staff Supervise students while they board and leave the bus and cross the street Communicate with staff on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on bus Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips per hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, accident reporting for TEA and more. Be available on-call for emergencies, as needed Compliance with traffic safety regulations and laws in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner Observance of safety rules as students are boarding and exiting buses, and as they cross streets near bus stops Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions Check bus for mechanical defects before and after each operation Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations Check and monitor the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort Keep bus interiors clean for passengers and exterior cleaning as needed Other duties as assigned VALUES AND COMMITMENT: Protects confidentiality of students and peers Approaches responsibilities with enthusiasm, dedication, and energy Punctual so the team is in attendance at events Refrains from calling off Performs duties efficiently and is self-motivated FULFILLS PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT: Interacts with students, families, visitors and co-workers with respect Approaches others with a positive attitude Refrains from gossip Offers problem-solving ideas Strives for professional excellence Follows dress code Adheres to policies and procedures PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Transport students and staff to events safely and promptly. WORKING CONDITIONS: Must maintain general physical and emotional health necessary for effective job performance. Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical health requirements. Potential occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens or other infectious materials.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED: High School diploma or education equivalent to completion of high school. Attend and complete required training to maintain certifications Minimum of six (6) years of general driving experience preferred.
Salary Range
SALARY: $21-$31 HOURLY SCHEDULE: 5:30AM - 9:30AM -PART TIME - 20HRS
